Sprinkled with His Blood

Chosen and destined by God the Father and sanctified by the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ and to be sprinkled with his blood.
From 1 Peter 1:2-3
Blood may seem strange to modern ears, yet throughout Scripture it speaks of life, covenant, and redemption. The sacrifices of Abel, the Passover lamb, the blood sprinkled by Moses, and sacrifices at the Temple all pointed forward to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God without blemish, whose precious blood brings forgiveness and new life. God the Father chooses us, the Spirit sanctifies us for obedience, and the Son’s blood establishes the new covenant and marks us as His own.
