Faith of Our Mothers

2 Timothy 1:1-7
I am reminded of your sincere faith,
a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois
and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you.

Mothers and other amazing women play a vital and unique role in our lives and faith. They make a lasting impression on us—not just in our physical resemblance but also in how we understand God, ourselves, and the world around us—often in good ways, but for some, in painful ways as well.
The Apostle Paul opens his second letter to Timothy by celebrating the impact of Timothy's mother and grandmother on his life and faith. Growing up with their love and example shaped Timothy and equipped him to be a teacher and minister of the gospel, preparing him to share with others what his mother and grandmother shared with him.
