Sermon July 4, 2021

It is a shame that the Christian faith is often considered predictable and boring. Instead, it is a great adventure as the Holy Spirit works in us and through us, not just for our own sake, but for God's purposes and presence in the world.

When those who heard Peter preach at Pentecost cried out, "What must we do?" Peter replied, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

The Holy Spirits in us, according to God's purposes, leads and empowers us to do do what we can never do on our own, to people and places we would not go on our own, and cleans house in our own hearts and life.
